Devastated by the worst floods ever, the coastal districts of Orissa have been severely affected. We are suffering a great loss in terms of life and property. Thousands have been affected. There is loss of live-stock, cattle, grain, destruction of flora and fauna, Orissa faces irrevocable resultant damage. Cattle and mankind share the same place of stay…….roads, embankments, mounds. 17 districts are affected. At least 30 breaches have been reported from different parts of the State. Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur and Puri are worst hit. We are organizing for relief in these areas.

The school cum cyclone shelters constructed by Arupa Mission for are being used by people for there protection from the floods. Relief and rescue operations are on by both the Government and Non Government Organisations. But whatever we do seems to be like a drop in the ocean. We appeal to you to help our organisation - Arupa Mission Research Foundation to carry out relief duties in the most affected areas.

We require reaching out to the affected; distributing food and medicine, kerosene, candles, match boxes and other basic relief material. Above all, our organisation is mobilising people to help in the prevention of the spread of epidemics, which is already taking root. Help us to help the devastated, Help us to "rehabilitate" those who survived. Our past experience with organizing rescue, relief and carcass disposal during the super cyclone and floods teaches us that a coordinated effort with people from all walks of life contributing in any way they can, actually makes a difference.
