Arupa Mission
Research Foundation (AMRF) was established on the second
day of February in the year 1995 and registered formally
under Trust Act on the 21st of September 1998, getting the
registration number 1729. The Foundation’s deep concern
over the plight of the deprived, vulnerable and underprivileged
and the sad plight of man ravaged mother nature augmented
a blazing trail of activities in the socio-economic development
of mankind and environment.
Having adopted the participatory approach peoples voices
are reflected in the needs and outcomes. A notable characteristic
of Arupa Mission Research Foundation is its planned approach
towards development and the involvement of concerned people,
partners and stakeholders at all levels. Advocacy and justice
are the other two cornerstones apart from activities linked
to disaster management, low cost construction, food security
and alternative livelihood which form the foundation of
the organisation’s endeavors.
The trust being a non profit, non political and secular
organisation works in liaison with a number of different
national and international stakeholders and funding agencies.
All implementation although is need based and through peoples
participation only. Regular feedback and monitoring of previous
projects and results seen are considered to be the map-work
for future activities.
Besides its normal activities, AMRF has initiated collective
efforts to attract the educationists, intellectuals, social
scientists and even young people to its fold for carrying
out awareness campaign against casteism, gender sensitization,
epidemics, mother and child care, environmental and cultural
degradation, and promoting and strengthening of people’s
organisation to encounter with their problems. AMRF thus
works between the invisible poor and its visible poverty
and makes efforts towards enabling them to project their
inherent strength against their conditioned weakness.
Whatever has been achieved has only become possible because
of the untiring efforts of the members, timely guidance
of the advisory board, active participation of the AMRF
family members, co-operation of the Government, line departments
and funding agencies and the involvement of the public at
large. |
